The original Dragon Ball series has been manufactured in Japan from February 26, 1986 April 19, 1989. Dragon Ball Z has been made in Japan from April 26, 1989 to February 23, 1993. Dragon Ball GT was released in Japan on February 7, 1996 to November 19, 1997. Unlike Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, GT was not based on the manga. Akira Toriyama was involved in the process, but only as an art consultant. He did not even stay for the whole time.
